About me:Reality Gives’ new Executive Director has a background in grassroots development work in India and Africa including organisational development and project management. She sees the connections and makes them happen.

Venture DescriptionReality Gives is an registered NGO which operates in Dharavi and provides social services required by the community. We are running and supporting local development projects and connect them to social minded individuals and organizations. Reality Gives is associated with Reality Tours and Travel, an ethical tour company which offers educational tours through Dharavi to break down the negative image many people have towards slums and to raise awareness about the enormous economical power as well as social issues of Dharavi. We also offer other city and village tours. 80% of all the profits after taxes from the tours go towards the NGO Reality Gives to support the activities for the community.

Provided Services:We run and support a Community Center, Youth Empowerment program, English Language Support Program for municipal schools, art program, music lessons, and sports activities for empowerment. Our goal is to address the holistic needs of our community in the areas of education, health, environment, and livelihoods by partnering with other organisations who have developed strong service models. For instance, our art program is run by Bombay Underground and our girl's football program is run by Yuwa and in June we will be starting health and nutrition programs through a partnership with the Foundation for Mother and Child Health. We are always looking for new partners doing powerful work to address issues found in our community.
