FAQ

1) Is Bombay Connect unique? If so, in what way?

Yes. Our key difference is that we provide affordable co-working space, networks and knowledge to a diverse community of people making good things happen in Bombay. We provide a cross-subsidized pricing model allowing low income entrepreneurs and established ventures to co-exist in the same space.

We know that early stage for profit and social entrepreneurs need to remain focused on their ideas while we take care of running the operations of an office space and of plugging them into a community of like-minded people.

2) Can you prove your impact?

Yes. Bombay Connect has a set of indicators to measure both our impact and the growth of our members and their ventures. We also have a strong work culture around creativity, mutual support, social change and community building.

3) Who can become a member of Bombay Connect?

Our members are a mix of:

  • For profits and non profits
  • Working in Bombay or coming from outside (to set up a venture in the city)
  • Individual entrepreneurs or established start-ups (in teams of 2-5 people)
  • Early stage social entrepreneurs, established NGOs or social businesses

We look at the individual and his wish to collaborate with other peers to make good things happen in Bombay. This is the essence of our membership culture.

4) What types of membership do you have?

  • If you need an office space, you might look at our packages that grant you monthly office usage on an hourly basis (from 25 hours/month to unlimited hours/month).
  • If you need meeting rooms to hold your venture’s private sessions and client meetings, you might take on a Connect Zero membership.
  • If you only need to be plugged into networks of start-ups and change makers, you might wish to become an online member.

A full description a our packages can be found here.

5) Is Bombay Connect a for profit or a non profit?

Currently Bombay Connect is an initiative under Unltd India - registered as a Non Profit. We are evaluating different legal options for our space, keeping in mind the social impact we wish to have. Our aim is to be financially sustainable while providing affordable space and networks at a stage where entrepreneurs and change makers need them the most.

6) What has been the experience of other members using the space? Can I contact them?

At Bombay Connect, we develop a strong relationship with our members - who become a part of our family. Some of our members keep coming back or keep in touch with us long after they have grown their ventures and moved out of our space.

You can directly reach out to our members. Please feel free to inquiry their experience out of our shared space.
