Screen printing originates from Japan and is considered to be a dying art form. In this workshop, participants will be learning the basics of screen printing.
They will be given an introduction to the materials, learn how to make the photosensitive emulsion, create a stencil on the screen, and finally transfer the design using coloured inks onto a surface.
WHAT YOU NEED TO GET?
Participants should bring paper (any kind will do), a plain cotton T-Shirt, or a cloth bag that is to be printed on. Participants should also wear old clothes and carry along a rag cloth or towel.
WHAT WILL BE PROVIDED?
Wooden screens, printing boards, PVC ink colours, exposing solutions, degreasing solution, squeegees, knives, aprons, thinner solution, clamps, tape.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
Open to participants ages 16 and above.
